I was the technical director for House of Gold at California Institute of the Arts.  This production required me to communicate with the the design team and production management on a daily basis to ensure that all elements were installed per the design.

I was also responsible for managing a team of 7 who helped me create the design.  My responsibility was to supervise the drafting and build processes,  which included redlining drawings and balancing a budget through the process.

House Of Gold

Part of the dramaturgical action was for the character of JonBenet Ramsey to pull back the carpet and reveal "evidence."  This had to be recreated every night.

The major element of this show was a 4'-6" dollhouse that had to support the weight of several actors.  The dollhouse was constructed using a slot method and cut out on a CNC router.  All of the rooms are themed differently.

The doors on the dollhouse as well as several windows had to open and operate for the actors to play with during the show.  It was also wired with sound, video, and lighting which incorporated it into the show further.

The Dollhouse's other side was the same shape and but was fully upholstered with the same fabric lining as the floor covering and a suit jacket used in the show.
