The CalArts Story was the theme for CalArts graduation 2015. I was responsible for the tech design and implementation of the scenic design.
The main set piece the large book in the center and the smaller "pages" behind them were outsourced to a vendor and had to be carefully drafted to ensure they would comply with a CNC program.
I was held accountable for creating a weather plan and sticking to it, because it rained heavily the day before the event.
The CalArts Story
The set was based on books and being all white for projection and a better lighting surface.
The podium was intended to be a stack of books that was also movable to create space for the performers to have space to dance.
